    Toe-Poke

Shot or pass struck with the tip of the boot — fast, hard to read and a signature finish in futsal.

    In depth

Because there's so little time and space to wind up, futsal players often shoot with the toe ('bico' in Portuguese). It's quicker than a laces strike, requires almost no backlift and is harder for the keeper to anticipate.

    Examples

    • ›Pivot receives, doesn't turn, and toe-pokes a low shot through the keeper.
    • ›Brazilian players are famous for the 'bico' — even Ronaldo scored World Cup goals with it.
