Fixo (Defender)
The deepest outfield player who organizes the defense, intercepts passes and starts attacks from the back.
In depth
The fixo is the team's defensive anchor and tactical brain. They read the game, communicate the press triggers, and act as a deep playmaker — often the player who recycles possession between the alas and into the pivot.
Examples
- ›The fixo intercepts a pass and immediately drives forward to create a 4v3.
- ›On opponent attacks, the fixo balances behind the alas as a sweeper.
