Kick-In

Restart used in futsal instead of a throw-in: the ball is placed on the touchline and kicked back into play within 4 seconds.

In depth

Replaces the football throw-in. The ball must be stationary on or behind the line and the kicker has 4 seconds from the moment they're ready. A goal cannot be scored directly from a kick-in.

Examples

›An ala places the ball on the line and lofts a quick diagonal to the pivot.
›If the kick-in isn't taken in 4 seconds, possession is awarded to the opponent.
